Sunday evening I could`t believe what I saw .
A couple went on vacation , I believe it was their Anniversary . I didn`t catch where they were from but they decided to go Whale Watching . So they got five professional divers to take them , anyways they came across a Female Whale who had just given birth .
The divers all watched the Whales for a while , when all of a sudden the mother snapped and went in defense mode .
She attacked the husband and struck him with her tail .
Can you imagine the poor mother . She was only protecting her calf .
She went to turn onto the other divers and somehow with the Grace of God the divers managed to get away . The mother went back to the baby and the rest of the divers were alright .
The Husband was alive and rushed to the local hospital .
He was treated for a number of broken ribs and I believe his leg was a;so broke .
Everyone is fine and going home soon .
I just couldn`t believe a Whale could move that fast , especially with all that water , I would have thought all that water would slow it down .
But I guess she is solid muscle .
I guess a person cannot predict when they are too close for comfort . Or if they are bothering the mom .
I`m glad their all OK , but maybe divers will be more cautious when it comes to these animal;s and their Habitat .
I just wanted to share this with every body .
Have a nice day .

Whales are real fast animals i have seen on the news of several tiem over the last few years of peopel gettin ghurt by them casu ethey wanna get close adn pet them like they are dogs or something. When you realise these animal are wild and can do 30 mph in some cases really put it in perspective. It still amazes me that people wanna swim up to them and think that a whale not gonna do anything they will do what ever they need to to protect there young and there pod. Those people are very lucky.
I have been fishing several times and had killer whales come right along side the boat and shoot past these animals are not the same ones you see in a petting zoo.

I agree with you the should be observed from a distance. There was a Killer Whale seperated from it pod near a place called Gold River. The goverment tried to return it to its pob as it had done sucessfully with another. The Goverment did nto want it getting to us eto people or geting too close to vessels. The First Nations people thought it was one of there chiefs returning to them and prevented it. After few months the First Nations said they would look after it for a fee and a few months after that it was killed after it got too close to a tug.
It was sad to hear that it was killed when if it could of been returned to its pod may still be alive today.

wow that is a terrible story. I had not heard about it. I am glad everyone is safe and going home soon but you just cannot predict the actions of wildlife.
