when you go shopping do you sometimes wear your new clothes out of the store or let your children do it. i have done it before and i've let my daughter do it once. i've had a friend told me it's inapropriate. what do you think.

My kids have never asked to wear anything other than shoes out of a store. Maybe they never thought of it. I would never say NO. Wouldn't be the first time my daughter wore a dress over a shirt/pants because she liked it. She is silly that way.

I never do that before, but I think it's ok, as long as you paid for the clothes. Or before you wear it, just ask the salesgirls in the shop about it. They will usually say ok, right? But just to let them know that you've paid for it, then I guess it's fine.

i always ask to make sure it's ok with the store and i don't remove the tags until i've paid. just in case the debit machine is down or something at the time.

I've never worn new clothes out of the store-- Neither has my daughter-- Now shoes on the other hand- She always wears her new shoes out of the store-- Whether its sandals, heely's, flip flops, sneakers-- It's funny! She hasn't ever asked to wear the clothes out- Oh I am wrong- Once she got ice cream on her shirt and we ran in to buy a cheap one-- had places to go still-- COuldn't have her all dirty! She wore that one out.

I haven't done it with clothes, that I can remember. I have done it with shoes/sneakers. Sometimes I have been out and my feet will be hurting and I will buy a new pair of shoes or sneakers and wear them out of the store.

I do it often and I do not care what other poeple think. the other week I went out and it started pouring of rain and I was wearing a little cropped jacket and I needed some new hoodies anyway so I just went into a shop and bought some and put one on before they put it in the bag. When I was young my mum didnt have much money and we had to wear shoes unitl they were completely worn so I would get the shop to bin my shoes and put on the ones I just bought. Gosh! That makes me sound so poor but it was just normal for us. We only had one pair of shoes for school and play. The other day I was going for an interview and my damn smart shoes were faulty so I wore them in the shop and then took them off, returned them and put on my replacements. There was no way I was going to go into the interview though with a carrier bag with my spare shoes in them. I do not care about dignity when the people do not know me directly!

Its kind of like eating something before you reach the billing counter in the departmental store/ grocers. The issue is not about whether it is billed or not, of course you do, but I personally think its more decent to wait till you finish the purchase and then sit down and peacefully eat/ drink. Unless you have a crisis and HAVE to eat then and there. Same thing with clothes, I would rather pack it up and use it another day, unless I have a hassle like some of the previous posters with stuff that spilt on my clothes/ being caught in a rain or something..

Where I live there is such a high theft rate that I would be stopped right a way if I did not change clothes. I have let my daughter change clothes or shoes in the car when she was younger. Now I just wait til I get home. I rather not be acused of shoplifting.

maybe for you unless you just bought that new outfit you wanted to wear for the family get together that you were going to and didn't have time to go home and change just had time to drop of the bags and run. but as for your daughter there is absolutly nothing wrong with it if it makes her happy i say go for it

Both myself and my children have worn new shoes out once purchased, but I have never worn new clothing out of the store. I would have no problem with it though. If I wanted to or my children wanted to, I would just ask the clerk and not remove tags until I had a receipt in my hand!
