Have any of you tried the do-it-yourself home dry cleaning kits? Do they work? Did your clothing retain its size and shape? I am so afraid to try one!

If you want the same result for less, use a dryer sheet and toss it in the dryer for about 10 minutes on a low heat setting. Dryell sheets give the illusion of clean by adding a fresh scent, but the the clothes don't come out of the dryer looking as fresh and dewrinkled as they do from the cleaners. Also, May The Force Be With You if you dare try the spot remover. Warning...step away from the spot remover, rolf

The one that i had was so simple to use. It comes with a plastic bag, a wet sheet resembling a dryer sheet only heavier. I put the dress in the bag with the sheet and tossed it in the dryer. It made the dress smell fresher but I did not feel that it was clean. I ended up sending it to the cleaners anyway. No, My dress did not shrink. The cleaners is an hour and half away or I would have never considered using the home kit in the first place. I never did use it again.

If it can not be run though a washer and dryer, then I don't want any part of it. So, no, I have not tried the dry claning kits.

I'm sorry I can't help you out with this one. I did not even know that there was such a thing. I would be afraid to try as well since my drycleaing things is my more expensive clothing.

I've tried a couple of different home dry cleaning kits and they both worked great. I found that the cheaper brand worked just as well as it's more expensive counterpart. Don't be fooled into paying more!

I have used them a little bit. I don't think it's as effective as dry cleaning, but should be safe enough, and can help you stretch the time til you have to go to the cleaners again.
