Do you think you can improve your English by surfing the Internet?

English is my second language,I can practice it here on MyLot and maybe I'm improving it

when i read the discussions,i must understand what it means,so i need study English and improve it.i think it is useful.

sure , we can, especially about our writing ability. this is one of the most important reason for me to drop in here from time to time. Regarding the improvement of our oral English, maybe we have to use MSN or something like that.

I don't think we can enhance our english by just surfing the net, for me, the most important thing to do is get engaged in more conversations. Especially to those who's first language is english, or by reading more books about english comprehension. Being here in mylot is also a big help, as we also use english here and participate on discussions with those users who are fluent in english.

if you are talking about grammar and vocabulary, i guess it does improve but fluency, i guess not

Somehow, the internet will help you..but most likely joining a site like mylot would help us better. English is my 2nd language, sometimes i have to consult mr webster for some words and its synonyms which will be more appropriate to use. I think people here understand me because they responded to my posts. sometimes when i tried to use some parable on one of my responses, i was literally misunderstood.

I think the videos help the most. The internet has a lot of improper usage of the english language.

English is not my second language, but I think it is good to practice another language on the internet. Spanish is my second language and I will visit forums in Spanish, listen to podcasts in Spanish and I think that helps a lot. You could visit BBC News World and that helps a lot, there are video on there. I think the internet can help improve the language, but you have to remember to use it every day even if you can talk to yourself and think in the language. Have a nice day. Pablo
