As you probably know, Regis announced on the show yesterday that he would be having triple by-pass surgery. He was off the show today...starting presurgery procedures. I believe he is supposed to have it tomorrow (Wednesday, 3/14/07) I am sure we will each want to include him and his family in our thoughts / prayers. I suspect it will be a long recovery. He is 75. He talked to David Letterman about the surgery...of course, Letterman had it had a much younger age so I'm sure Reg's recovery will take longer.

I had not heard that Regis was having triple bypass surgery but that is a very common surgery these days. Have you noticed how many people have bypass surgery?

yes, it seems to be a very common surgery these days. It is even done in my small town hospital.

Yup, all the transfat and cholesterol are catching up to us!!! I am so glad that transfat has been revealed and folks are more conscious about it. Now if we could work on cholesterol and triglycerides!

I had not heard about this til you posted this topic. I used to watch him and Kathy Lee all the time when I was younger and enjoyed his comments and humor very much. I also enjoyed watching "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" when he was the host. I certainly do hope that the surgery goes well and that will be okay and recover quickly.

I doubt that they will replace him permanently. they have scheduled a series of subs for the next few weeks. I suspect the show would fold if he could not continue with it.

Sorry I do not know who you are talking about here as I have never heard of this man, but hopefully he will be ok and that he has a quick recovery. Oh yes it may take longer for the recovery seeing he is that age but I would like to pass on my prays for him and his family and that he will be ok.

Regis Philbin is an American icon who is currently the host of a morning talk show on many television stations. It originates out of New York City. He was a previous host of the game show series, "Who Wants to be A Millionaire" I suspect some version of that show has hit Australia but with a different host.

I heard something very briefly about that today. I caught the tail end of it on the radio. Hopefully things will go well for him. My father had triple bypass and my mother had double bypass. They both came out of it okay.

I didn't know that he was having bypass surgery as I don't watch the show. I actually didn't realize either that he was 75 years old. More and more seem to be having bypass surgery. The years of transfat, cholesterol, and triglcerides are catching up with us.

Sergury for heart by pass has come a long way. These operations are done so often that it is childs play. I have friends that have had three and four by pass surgeries and are doing fine. Regis has tons of money so he can afford the best and he will be fine. He sure doesn't have to worry about paying his hospital bills or paying anyother bills.

He is such a busy man! I wonder how long he can keep this pace up? I certainly don't want him to leave his daytime talk show, but I'd rather him live with less stress and be healthier.
