I had lasik surgery and now my eyes are very dry

Hi... I had lasik surgery 3 months agoto correct short sightedness. Two days after the surgery after an eye exam my doctor said my left eye was 20/20 and my right eye 20/50. Few days later my eyes started to feel very dry and they still are. Now the eye exam shows that both my eyes are 20/50. I am very concerned because my eyes are still dry and Restasis seems to be of no help. I read some scary stories about people who had lasik surgery and their eyes just got worse. I would like to know if anyone had the same experience and their eyes went back to normal with time.

I have never had that surgery. I would suggest to keep using eye drops to keep your eyes moist. I know how it is to have dry eyes. It is no fun at all. Good luck.

You are very brave. I have wanted to get "Laser Eye Surgery," for a while, but I don't have the guts. I have been wearing glasses since I was two years old and they are a part of me. I would love to have surgery and get rid of these glasses, but alas, I am an over grown chicken.
If the drops are helping a lot, continue to use them. I would go back to the doctor and find out whether or not this is a temporary thing or not. At the least, you could look the side effects up on the internet and see if it is on the list. I believe that it is a common problem though.

What I am having is a dry eye syndrome after lasik surgery. My doctor told me that with most patients it improves and the eyes go back to producing tears. But he also told me that some get worse. I am hopping that my eyes will improve with time. Thank you for your answer.

hi, how about your eyes now? I am planning to have this surgery, but i am very worry about it coz heard of that someone became blind after this surgery. anyway, how are you going?
