My rating is 95/100, but my star frequently changes between red and blue. Why?

Can anyone explain why my star one day will be blue, but the next red? I got a blue-10 star some time ago, but twice now it's returned to a red 9, without a rating drop.

Hi ratburn, if you place your curser over your star you'll see your rating is 72%. This will incerase as you start, and respond to discussions. Mine now has been at 95% for some time, but my star changes, and I don't know why.

hi my friend I think our star rating for 10 is 96-100 below that will be 9 which is red so when you reach 95 it will return to red and again when you reach 96 it will return to 10 that is my observation because when you are 85 you are a 8 and when you reach 86 you will be a 9. That is how I observe my ratings but not very sure about it I think active participation, respond to your discussion and best responses do a vital role in our star rating. No matter what is your star mipen you are a 10 to me forever. Cheers!! good day!

Thanks for the reply maribel, but your information can't be correct as I've got a blue star again, but my rating hasn't changed. I guess they work in decimal points, and round off from them.

Happy! - Good luck on gettng your 10!
I think that the mylot system is confused about whether is should round the nuber off to 90 or 100. Burt I figured that once you reach something-6, in your case 96, you will get the 10 star for sure. So try to get your reputation up by at least 1 point and you will get to keep a 10 star (as long as your reputation doesn't drop again).. Good luck and I hope you get up to the 10 star again!

I have no idea, Mipen, I don't pay attention. Good friends are coming regardless. I don’t care what others think, I have my own rating system.

Your posts are always quality. Sometimes a little deep for me to respond to, but I always read them.

I think it does that because 95 is the cutting edge ... mylot probably takes into account some decimals but don't show them to keep it easy to read For instance if you have 94.99, they round it to 95 but your start is red, but if you got 95.1, they still round it to 95 but your star is blue .... That is my own opinion but I think it makes sensee, what do you think?

Not any more. I notice you've progressed to 97/100, and I've also moved of 95. I get you beat me to 100.

I could see that a 95 is indeed a 'limbo', or known as a stuck, between the rounded number 10, or non-rounded number 9, I guess that is about fluctuation. Getting a 95 is indeed awesome, but if you want to secure a 10, I guess getting it to 96, and above would be a wise manner. I am hanging onto 85, well guess an 8, or 9, doesn't really affect me much. Hope you hit you secured 10 soon. Keep it up!

Yeah, I'm happy with the 95, but I can't understand why it's red, then blue, usually for only one day, then red again!

G'day, I have learned something, thank you. I had no idea about leaving the mouse over the star and geting that data to show up, beautiful. I did notice a while ago, that some fanatics are super protective of their ego's and are not able to mark discussions according to how well someone put forth their views or whether they are any good at orating at all. They openly admitted to marking all responses as negative, that didn't tow their line. I thought them to be rather sad. But, you get that. I had a gig at your pics just then, I was struck by the pic of yourself and your wife visiting the grandkids. Now, there is a big bush in the background with large pink flowers on it, looks like a hibiscus, I reckon the pic was taken in QLD, maybe NT or WA, but my first guess is QLD. Go on, tell me it was where I live in Victoria, and I will be on the lookout, you don't usually see them looking that good this far south. Regards my ratings, pretty dismal I reckon, but in the words of Abbott and Costello, 'I'm a baaaad boy'. I must be in the eyes of the world, for MyLot is a sample of world population. But, I'm not really here for ratings or money, I do enjoy a good blether though. If there is the chance of learning something or teaching someone, (not everybody wants to learn though, one of my problems), I will poke my nose in. I'm glad the world is still full of mysteries, it makes life interesting.

I like this site also because sometimes you can genuinely help some with a problem, or you can seek information, and resolve one of your own. I have to smirk though when some posters talk about the earnings as if they're going to make real money here. That's a joke. The photo you mention was taken in a suberb of Perth, and you're right, it is a hibiscus. I only get back to Aus about once every three years, and that's my daughters place where we stay. Take care, keep poking your inquisitive nose in, and have fun, cause that's what life is all about.

with a 95 rating you are border line between a 9 and a 10 star rating so even the slightest change in your pluss and minus ratio to answers can change your star coulor. Blessed be

Well, maybe your usage is lessened and someone muight rated you as negative, you know, I've been here at mylot for 4 months now and my star is still a red 9. I would like to congratulate you for having a blue 10.

Thank you. It's the system that puzzles me. I've seen some posters with a blue ten yet they've only avhieved around 300 points. I'm not worried, just puzzled!

wow, good for yoy my friend. I am stuck at the number 9 rating and it never went to the 10 rating. The problem is how am i going to get it back. Though theres really no connection with earnings and the rating but I would love to see a 10 rating behind my name coz for me it means soemthing.

Yours will return quickly. I haven't had time to start a discussion for a long time, so my has, and will be stuck on 96 for some time yet.
