Anyone having good luck with Google Adsense?

I signed up with google adsense a few weeks ago for my web page. I have bought directed traffic to get some exposure on the site which has FREE articles on marketing to read but can seem to get more than about .20c cents a day even with 1000 hits a day. Any GURU's with some advice? the page is at www.mysite.verizon.net/lbristow
