Something that is Bothering Me

I have watched a lot of different television programs that have shown gay partners that have a commitment ceremony and they adopt a child and then the custodial parent dies and the remaining partner has to fight the custodial parents family to get custody of their own child. I brought this up because of the Anna Nichol situation. Anna Nichol and Howard K. Stern had a commitment ceremony but were not married, she did not have an updated will of living will describing what to do with her child. There is nothing other than the birth certificate which we all know can be faked, and going by the stoned state of mind we have seen she was in she could have been cooerced into lying about the baby's daddy. Why haven't the authorities ordered this man to bring this child in or gone in and got this child instead of letting him dictate the way the investigation is run. If this was any ordinary Joe off the street would this have been handled this way? Even though Anna Nichol's mother had not been that close to her in recent years she is the child's onlt living relative. Tis child should have been taken into custody until DNA testing has been.
