we know for a fact that lying is a sin that is committed against another person or persons. some say that this must be done for good, or not to hurt others or correct the previous mistakes in the past, or protect the integrity of one person. but what is the difference of this so-called "white lies" from an ordinary lie? will somebody please explain?

We all tell ordinary lies in our day to day activity, sometime intentionally or sometime unintentionally. No one can espace from it. To live in society it is essential also. But where white lie is concerned, it should not be tell. There are few people who use it just to hide their weaknesses. Such people are lack of confidence. They do not have confidence on their surrounding as well as at their own so they tell white lies frequently. Though it is caught very soon because it has no resemblance with fact. If we speak one lie, we have to speak another lie to hide first one and so on. At last we are trapped. So in my opinion it is better to accept at first site and not to tell lie.

Hmmmm im not sure.... maybe lying is literally wanting to hurt someone or hiding your mistakes... while white lies are more of excuses such as when someone calls and you dont want to talk to anyone, you would signal the one who answered to tell the person on the other line that you are not there or sleeping...
