Toilets in restaurant, coffee hse, pubs and eating houses & public toilets are frequently, if not overused. These toilts are usually in a very dirty, filthy and smelly conditions. These are further aggrevated by poor maintaince, faulty taps and flushing system. These badly maintained toilet reflects badly on our living style. When a survey was conducted to establish the source ot the problem, it was revealed that the toilet owners failed to keep a clean toilet by cleaning it regullarly and they ignore the to rectify defects in the toilets. These resulted, the user finding the toilet in a bad condition, failed to observe the proper use of the facilities. Now! how can the government and the people help to improve this terrible conditions.

That is a sure way to have the toilets clean. Montreal has imposed the "pain" method. Incidentally, in Singapore similar enforcements has been imposed. But b4 that there was an extensive educating campagim done. I wonder how many countries have adpoted this method of enforcement. Good for us

I must admit my friend we do not often get dirty toilets now in Scotland as there are regulations and they must stick to them or the premises will be closed down , I myself hate dirty toilets and it makes me feel sick just thinking about it , If I did find one I would pray that I could hold on until I found another one , xx

You are lucky out there and I think the "PAIN" imposed by the government makes the owner to ensue that their toilets are well maintained

One thing I believe is that there should be more portable out houses. Even though I can't use them, (phobia of small closed spaces)it would help a lot. Then less people would have to depend on businesses to open their restrooms for them. I have to be desparate to get up the nerve to use any public restroom. Most of the time, I will hold it until I get home. If I can't hold it, I just pray that the bathroom is not to bad. I get in and out as quickly as possible. I have not used a gas station restroom in years. The thought makes me sick. I have seen some very disturbing things in public bathrooms. I also have to admit that there have been times when I have had to leave restrooms in not so picture perfect conditions for whatever reason. Sometimes things just happen, but I try my best to be aware that other people will come behind me. The smells are the worst though, I have a very sensitive nose. I can smell germs, after a person sneezes. I could do a job like cleaning portable out houses, as long as I have a odor proof mask, a hose with some force, a can of Lysol, and a good scrubbing rag. I love the challenge of cleaning filth.

Such deplorable state may not have arised, if the owners of the toilets had some social responsibility in keeping them clean or atleast useable. Thank you for sharing Rozie
