Would you take advantage of someone elses mistake to win a prize?

Situation is a game show and you have to press the buzzer to answer. Neither contestant knew the answer so they stood there for over a minute while the compere was dithering, then one of them said an answer, the other hit straight awy hit the buzzer and said the same answer and won. I think this was a scabby thing to do and much as I like winning I would scorn to do this as I would feel like a cheater.

That was aweful. It's an obvious cheating and it would surely send fumes out of my nose and ears! Some people, out of desperation, do unimaginable things just to get money. They might be happy but I bet if the happiness lasts long.

I would feel bad if I took advantage of someone else's mistakes. i would be like you and feel like I was cheating in some way.

No, it is not cheating. You heard it coming from the competitor's mouth, okay. But since she didn't strike the buzzer, she didn't get credit for it. Most probably, she was unsure of her answer and so she just babbled it. Now, you heard her say it and you know that it is the right answer. You strike the button and gave it as an answer of your own and won. It is only fitting and proper that you get the credit because, it was you who followed the rules and gave the right answer.

Thanks for your response. However, since everyone stood there for quite a while and normally if a response doesn't occur in a certain time the question gets discarded I still think it would have been fairer in this case to ask another question.
