Today my nephew came home really mad at his teacher for have punished him .. he just entered the house and started throwing his school bag then he is water bottle and was uttering bad words to his teacher ... when asked by his mom why he was so angry he said his teacher punished him unnecessarily. He is a brilliant student and never gets punished .. he said he felt insulted .. he is hardly 8 yrs old .. I have never seen him so angry .. but he says he had no choice but to take the punishment even though it was not his fault .. how can he be consoled .. he is very disturbed .. since final exams are round the corner I dont want anything like this to be lingering in his head ..

Ask your nephew what happened. Maybe it really was his fault but he just feels differently. If it was his fault explain to him why. Ask the teacher what happened too. If you think it was the teacher's fault I think you should talk to the teacher.

I agree. This is exactly the same advice that I was going to give. Talk to the teacher and the boy, and help him understand why he was in trouble, if it was something wrong.

Exams at 8?Wow!My kids are 9 and 11 and the most they do are little tests.....and I mean little....the best thing to do is find out what happened and than explain it to him....if he was at fault, let him know he had to take responsibility for it,if it wasn't go and see his teacher, find out what all happened....

Before jumping into any conclusions, you must find out what exactly happened. You can ask your nephew or a friend close to him. 8-year olds can make errors in judgement and your nephew may have done something wrong. Pep him up with his favorite meal for now and allow him to relax so he can talk it with you himself. Most kids get over these in 2-3 days and I think he will do a good job in his exams. All the best - to you and to him. Keep us updated!
