Do you think Anne Rice wants to make a stand in the "Servant of the bones"?

I find this book, beyond it's innate beauty and the thrill in the story itself, to be a kind of message to our world. Gregory's organization is not so different from other terror organizations nowdays. With that, in the story, most of the cultists actualy believed in the good things their religion talked about, while not being aware of Gregory's evil designs. It is one of the messages in the book - not all those who are part of a group we see as evil, are evil themselves. Most of the time, the contrary is true - those who makes us see the group as evil, are the few who somehow got the leadership. What do you think? Do you find more moral to the story?
