is sarcasm the lowest form of wit or is it a sign of being clever?

I think that while sarcasm can be funny, it is necessary to be aware of how and with whom you use it. It is a great frustration reliever for the person using it. I will at least give you that. Most sarcastic people I know could practically be stand up comedians, but they choose to stop short at sarcasm far to often. Not everyone gets it as humor.

I'm a big fan of sarcasm. Good sarcasm can be witty and funny. And, it lets out my frustrations. Although some people find me mean when I'm sarcastic.

I'm the same :) I think it's a mid-ranged level of wit. I've been knocked out because of it before though... Gotta watch who you're being sarcastic to.
