Defending Mylot from others

Last night I was playing games in a room that had chat. I really never use the chat, but I do like to read some of it. Well as I was playing a game, I happened to catch the word Mylot out of the corner of my eye. I looked over to read the discussion to see what all was being said. I couldn't believe some of the stuff that was being said. They were making fun of Mylot, and making jokes about the way we are paid, and saying that everybody here is dumb.
Well that made me so mad!! I then joined the chat. I told them that there is nothing wrong with Mylot, and that I feel that this is a very helpful place, and that I enjoy using mylot. Well after I got called every name in the book for defending Mylot, I found out what it was all about.
It was a couple people that aren't allowed to access their accounts with Mylot.
The stuff that they were saying was so terrible. Stuff that was making Mylot look terrible. I enjoy spending time on Mylot, and I'm sure that many of you do as well. I wasn't about to let a couple bad apples ruin it for all of us. What do you think that you would have done?

It sounds like sour grapes to me. They are just ticked off because they can't be here. Mylot is all about sharing opinions, whether or not we agree with them. Consider it just that. These people were expressing their opinions and they have the right to do so. If people are interested, they will check out mylot for themselves. Don't worry too much about it.

Well i just joined mylot a few days ago and i love it. i didn't just join it for the money i enjoy the discussions. i would of probably told them how much i liked it and if they were still rude then i would of just rolled my eyes and ignored them.

My father always told me to ignore the ignorant, therefore, I probably wouldn't have wasted my time with them. I try and stay away from negative people. But don't be down, you know that you aren't dumb or any of those names that they called you... if you enjoy your time here (like I do), then noone elses opinion matters.

I would have done the same thing you did and tried to defend mylot because it is a good place to learn some stuff and met new and interesting people. I mean I Don't spend a lot of time here, but when I do I have fun reading and responding to what people have to say.

Thank you for responding. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who would have defended Mylot. I think that if we want to keep this place, we have to defend it, and make it look good.

We could have crowned you a proud defender of MyLot, knighted as Sir/Lady. Well, it is really hateful to see that bad apples are trying to contaminate the good apples. That is human nature of vengence/resentment, if we can't get it, we make it worst. I am glad that there are poeple like you who stood up in reality to defend the name of MyLot, I am sure that we, as true users know the priceless information we could get from people all around the world, and if others were to deem it as dumb, or useless, I supposed their foresight could be well predicted without us saying much.
Anways, good job, and lets contain a good name for MyLot. All the best! I seriously enjoy myself in Mylot too!

Thank you for responding. I found it very upsetting that they were trying to make Mylot look bad. I enjoy the time that I spend here. I find this place very helpful to myself, and I get great joy out of helping others. I think that if they would have respected the rules, they may have come to enjoy it here to. Instead, they were doing something wrong and got banned, but that is no reason to give the place a bad name. I don't want people ruining this place, and I'm sure that many people agree with me on that. Once again, thank you for your response.

I would have defended mylot also. I try to ignore ignorant people but I'm not very successful at it! LOL We're probably better off without those kind of people here anyway. I have to admit I'm kinda worried about what mylot will get like when it gets really big, i've become accustommed to this "community feel." Thanks for defending the site, and all of us here too!

I don't know why MyLot would be any different than other forums That they may use. There is a payout here maybe that;s what brought alot of people here to check out but stayed for the discussions. It's no different really.

It isn't. It's the same as the other places. They were just trying to make Mylot look bad cause they aren't allowed here anymore. It's nobody's fault but their own. Thank you for responding.

First thing I would have thought of was like you said about what you found out. They were former MyLot members who could no longer access their accounts. If I was there, I would have said "either you love MyLot or you are nothing but a bunch of cheaters." There are several people here who have had their accounts pretty much cleaned out - no discussions, & no responses to discussions, but they do have several points, from a few hundred to a few thousand.
Anyway, great detective work - if you didn't think of that they were possible cheaters who were blocked from logging into their accounts.

It's up to them what they about mylot, as long as we enjoy being here. It's just that they can no longer belong. they just dont belong here. Outsiders! simply. We enjoy sharing here and we get paid, and this is true, we are really paid! And that's something they cant find anywhere else. Just so sorry for them...

I guess I wouldn't mind them they will just ruin my day...as long as I know it's not true I won't let anything like that affect me...but good job to you for facing them and protecting mylot.

Spending time on mylot is fun to me too. It is also a gym for me to workout my strength of using the English language. These people are just unfair. I think if they play a fair game, they won't be unwelcome to login here. So no matter what they say, I will stick on participating discussion in this forum at least for some time.

Isn't it strange how the people who say bad things about something are always the ones who got banned or had their accounts deleted for some reason?
It's always sour grapes too, because you can bet your life if they could open another account, they would, and they'd be here posting like everyone else.
I would definitely have done the same thing as you. I LOVE being on Mylot and I couldn't have sat by while someone else started bad mouthing it. I've made so many friends, and I've had a lot of fun with discussions and responding. Mylot has improved my quality of life, and I wouldn't sit by while someone tried to discount all that just because they can't abide by the rules in order to keep their accounts.

I think I would have done the same thing. All you did was to state your opinion so the people chatting knew that not everyone had problems with mylot. It's a shame you had to go thru the abuse afterwards, but I think that's probably a good indicator as to why that member was banned. ;)

Okay so spammers got kicked out and now they are badnaming the forum. didn't you tell them thatat least this is an honest forum that pays. mylot has become a second family to me. I am supposed to be studying but here I am checking out discussions on mylot, lol. I can not keep away from this one. may be not much but I do have to write a bit daily over here. Good for you for defending myllot. I agree with what one other responder said, case of sour grapes.
By the way a bad publicity is also a publicity. so In a way they are doing a good thing spreading the word about mylot.

well those people who are rediculing my lot maybe those accounts that were deleted due to abuse or foul language who knows...if im the one who read it ..of course i will also depend mylot...i like it here..

Kudos to you for your defense of our collective interest.You cant please all as they say, what ever happens here in mylot some will always find reasons to complain.I believe membership is still voluntary and if you are not satisfied for any reason you can take your leave and allow us who are willing enjoy our stay here period.

well... you can't please anybody. am just a newbie here. my friend just told me about this place. i haven't got anything yet. just responding to other discussions. place is cool. whether, you want to make money or express your opinion. i've tried many sites before, few of them are proven to make money. but for mylot its money-making and my self to be heard at the same time. That's fair enough for me. For those chatters in the forum, just let them be...ok?
