my friend spilt hot gravy I think it was on her foot so I gave her this tip and she said I should put it on here so here goes If you get burnt by hot water or hot food. grab the mustard and put it on right away it may sting alittle at first but you will get no blister. Also I always try to keep a aloe vera plant around pull off a stem or leave what ever ya call them and use the juice right on the burn this also helps tokeep the blisters away

Is it a 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree burn 1st degree is usually pink or reddish in color Do Not use Ice or Cold Water for it Could cause more damage Cool water is best Good choice with the Aloe Vera No mustard please 2nd degree burns are bright red and have a blister DO NOT apply any sort of cream or greasy substance to the wound These trap in heat and cause further damage 3rd degree burns produce charred patches on the skin which are white, black or brown. These require medical attention Sure hope they feel better soon Good luck Wendy 2nd degree

As far as I know the first thing to do after a burn is to wash it with cold water. Applying ghee on the burn after washing can prevent it from blistering. There are also a lot of ointments available for burns.

Never thought to put mustard on a burn, but will give it try. Maybe it is the vinegar in the mustard that helps. I would also use the aloe vera plant when I got a burn. The problem is that I can't keep an aloe plant alive and haven't had one in my house for years. But, I do have aloe vera gel handy.

You shoudln't really be putting mustard on it, as your more likely to get it infected. You should run it under cold water for ten minutes if not more and apply burn cream but never covering the burn with a towel or dressing. It will only pull off the scab or blister causing even more infection!

Plain white vinegar will work also, the "active ingredient" in the mustard, is the vinegar, it may hurt like all heck, but it works really well to take the ouch out of sunburn also.

I have never heard of mustard but my grandmother always used butter, which now we are told not to do. She did it every time and we never had a blister. Cold water worked too. For now on I will use the mustard!

Latvians say you have to put a sour cream on burn. I put pure shea butter - it always helps. I guess you have to make it in right temperature. Big mistake is to put your burn under cold water. aloe vera works too
