metallica...why metallica? is there any other name??

the first name was youth metal attack.the band line up are:james hetfield for vocal and guitar,dave mustaine for lead guitar,lars ulrich for drummer and ron mcgovney for bassist.and then mcgovney left out to his career for a jazz bassist,so come cliff burton.the name metallica is unknown until know.some said,the name of metallica was given by the fans from the words of metal and vodka.these four young guys was perform a very hard music,even their indie hits were very famous around the metal fans.and then come the conflict between mustaine against james,mustaine then left away and perform megadeth.to change this positions come kirk hammet who formerly a lead guitarist from exodus.so metallica becoming more bigger and make a three great albums;kill 'em all,ride the lightning and master of puppets.at the tour of master puppets,there was an accident which make cliff burton die.all metallica line-up were very sad until jason newsteed come and change the bassist position.even metallica make their first video and attributed for cliff burton. the video tittle's was cliff 'em all. with jason newsteed,metallica more excellent in music quality...and justice for all was very high in musical quality.including the instrument to remain cliff burton,to live and to die.i think you will know the history of metallica at present time.

thats a good question.well i think they were a metal band ,so they would hav thought abt having name connected with metal

METALLICA - Lars Ulrich was helping a friend think of a name for a metal fanzine. The choices were Metal Mania and Metallica. Metal Mania was chosen for the magazine & he used Metallica for his band.

a guy who was about to launch a metal fanzine asked Lars for help regarding the name. he had some ideas and "Metallica" was one of them. when Lars heard it he suggested another one and kept Metallica to himself (clever motherf***er :)) i think Metallica always evolved even before Jason came in the band. i don`t think Cliff was a wors bass player than Jason and even today they are still evolving although they are not evolving into something nice. when i say nice i think of the old Metallica sound (which will not come back, my opinion)

obviously because they play metal and are one of the people who started metal seriously or more precisely speed/thrash metal.thats not such a complex word.
