I will go for notebook, it give you the flexibility to work anywhere you want and the data is alway with you in your harddisk.

as every one says it depends on the way u use it.If u use that in your home buy a desktop PC cos the peripherals cost less so that u can upgrade later. But if u are always on the move then buy a notebook. But remember that it costs about 3 times to upgrade your laptop when compared to your desktop

Even with the above comparison, I'm still gonna choose a desktop. It's easier to upgrade and is cheaper.

if the plan is to use it as a workstation then it has to be a reliable system and also one that is easy to upgrade and those are easily achived by a desktop computer.

It all depends on what you want to do with your computer. A notebook computer is not the best for games and graphics editing. There are notebooks that have higher end graphics cards but you will pay alot of money compared to the price of a desktop. If you are someone who likes to change technology alot desktops are upgradable while notebooks are much hareder to upgrade. It is not taht easy to add hard drives or change the graphics card in a notebook. The only plus of a notebook is the ability to bring it with you. Unless you need to have your computer with you all the time for work or school the price difference you pay for a notebook is not worth it. You can get a much better desktop with more options for less money than a desktop.
