I just saw the movie "Marie Antoinette". This question came into my mind, "Did Marie Antionette really love Louis the 16th and did Louis the 16th love Marie Antionette? What do you think?

Well, she decided her place was with her husband in the most trying times. Fate arranged their marriage, it seems neither of them had much choice. I think she respected her husband, if not really loved, but both were immature and inexperienced to rule a country. Passionate as she was, most historians say she was not as uncaring as the tales suggest.

They do bring out in the movie that she was not as uncaring as the tales suggest. I think part of the rumor is that she was from a foreign country and the people really never saw her until her fateful ending

No. I don't think they loved each other.Back then marriage wasn't based on love, espesially royal marriages.I hoped they grew to like each other, but romance? No.

Did they really have time to get to know each other before they were beheaded. It would have been interesting to see if things would have changed for the better if Louis would have lived longer. Thanks for your comments!
