Yes it is at least for the Children with only their mom/dad, who could not live together with both of their parents only because they divorced. They could not get as much attention any more. On the other hand, a single mom/dad had a lot more pressure. Both case easily lead to unhealthy people, emotionally or physically.

I do not believe an increasing number of divorce is a threath to society. I do think the increasing number of divorce is a threath to the family structure. With a change in the family structure should follow a reorganization of some benefit-systems. Change is sometimes for the good - it is not always a threath. If divorce is a threath we do not really know yet. It might not be if we are willing to face the necessary changes.

It's become too common and acceptable and always seen as a solution to a lack of planning rather than a Plan B. People should be able to divorce if they want to, but they should really think things through before getting married in the first place. Also, I'm in favour of mandatory counselling before a divorce is granted.
