What is your opinion about Islam?

i think every religion only preaches to be friendly with other humans n respect others like himself... n certainly its only said in holy quran too i suppose.... but i dont know where the term 'jihad' comes from...they say that a war must be started in the name of jihad...but i certainly think that islam doesnt preach that... wat do u think about jihad...??is it true??
