When you "vent" ... what do you think the other person should do? Do you think the other person should go running to the person you are "venting" about, or should they just keep it to themselves. Personally to me, if you are "venting" to someone, you are just getting out your frustrations, and that person should keep it to themselves. To me, if someone is venting and the other person goes running off behind your back to say what you had, they are just causing undue drama. And I don't feel like having my whole life be a soap opera because people don't understand the word "vent". So, define what "venting" means to you.

To me venting is just letting off steam. Letting out pent up frustrations. I think in your case maybe you are venting to the wrong person. If a person is going to betray your confidence then you shouldn't give them details. I usually try to vent to my closest friends because they don't run and blab whatever is botheriing me. Sometimes I just vent here...lol

Venting is just spilling all the things that are causing you tension or stress out verbally.....i think it is a healthy thing to do because it is never good to keep negative emotions and tensions bottled up.....and when you vent to somone it should be confidential....i usually vent to my mother or boyfriend because I know that they wont blab anything
