I thought I was a Christian But Realized I Wasn't

Back in 1989 was when I really became a Christian. Oh I had went through all the motions, I went to the altar when several of my friends did and thought was all it took. I even taught a Sunday School class, sung in the choir and helped with Childrens Church for years. But on a Sunday night in training union class at church the lesson was on Jesus dying on the cross and what all he actually went through. I had heard this before many times all my life but it was different this time. The Lord really spoke to me. It was like he was telling me, Shelia, you need to take me into your heart tonight and make things right or you may never get another chance. When the invitation time came at the end of the worship service my heart was about to pound out of my chest but I went to the altar and our pastor prayed with me. I asked Jesus to save me and come into my heart and it is the best decision that I have ever made!! No, things aren't always a bed of roses. The Lord never promised us that. He did promise us that he will give us the things that we need here on earth to get through the day, and more important, a home in Heaven when we die or when he comes back to Earth to take us home. I fully believe that day is coming soon!! To any of you who are not a Christian, I beg of you to ask the Lord into your heart and let him be your Saviour. It will be the best decision that YOU ever make too!! God Bless Each of You! Shelia McCrary

It's a great testimony. Thanks for sharing it. Many people says that they are Christian but they are not born again yet. I just think that it's not our decision to believe in God, it's God's decision to make us realize our poorness in the heart, we really need God, we beg Him into our heart and believe in God (Eph 1:4; 1 Pet 1:2). I believe it's the work of GOD: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. God bless you too..

I agree with you, if God doesn't draw us we cannot go to Him. Some people think they can get saved whenever they want to but if God's Spirit isn't working with you you will not be saved. It is wonderful to hear from other Christians out there! May the Lord continue to bless you and your family. SheliaLee

Your testimony is more than the best response. But, I had to say thanks for the best response too. Just keep post your other testimonies. I really enjoy it. Nice to meet a Christian who dare to share her testimony. God Bless you..

hi,i am a christian but i do not often visit our church the reason why sometimes i am so busy doing some thing at home or at other places than church. But i will never miss praying to our good God every night before i go to sleep.. I have so many miracles that happened to my life which made me believed that God is always with us all we need to do as you said is to open our heart for him and we will understand more about life and our relationship with him. I came from a religious family and i do believed God will always find a way to open our eyes for miracles and his love for us.But why other people insists we have to go to church to see God, you have proved God you beleived him and you love him and make God happy what i understand is doing good things We adore him already and follow his rules in life? anyway glad you open your heart for him..That was the best decision you made! Godbless you always!Godbless you always and hope more miracles will come to you from GOd!

Holy Ballony... Another one has fallen for the mumbo jumbo ! Religion is all about controlling other people, and I mean ANY religion. As Mr. Marx said : it is opium for the people.
