For many years, I have not taken my wife for a proper holiday during our wedding anniversary. So, I have to give you a positive rating for reminding me. Yes, I think she loves a cruise too. Now that I am early retired and running my own online businesses, it is a good year to consider a cruse trip. Appreciate your post which brings life back to other members like me. I do wish there are more posts like this. I consider this a quality discussion because I am reminded about life values.

It can be different things for different people. Money can be at issue so romantic activities have to be more creative. Passports are not available for everyone. I cannot afford one and then if I did get one could not afford that kind of a trip. As long as it interests the two of you and gives you time to reconnect it is a romantic getaway.

Oh, lucky you. I think I spent my last wedding anniversary here on myLot. It was last February and it was on a weekday. My husband brought me breakfast in bed, which he never does on a week, and I was quite puzzled and annoyed too that he had woken me. I never thought any more about it until I saw a discussion on myLot about anniversaries and then the penny dropped. However, we will have a big celebration in another couple of years when we celebrate our 40th anniversary.

Going on a cruise is a nice idea. I would also spend an evening in some nice restaurant with a quiet music. Actually, my hubby and I celebrate our first date which was on 9/22/03. We go out to the restaurant where we spent our first evening. The music there is not so quiet, but for us it's the best restaurant. :) I hope our future wedding anniversaries will not be forgotten and celebrated in some romantic way.

A cruise is a very nice thing to do. I think the most romantic way to spend a wedding anniversary is to book the day off work and just spend the day together. I dont think it really matters what you do aslong as you do something together. I find it amazing how many couples just go to work on their anniversary's like its a normal day.

This is going to sound crazy: On our wedding day we were so busy with everyone talking to us and taking our picture that we never got to eat. Our first real meal as man and wife was a greasy cheeseburger platter, fries , & a chocolate shake at a diner. So, that's what we do on our anniversary

Well we have no money to do such things, but for us it is just doing something like a walk or going away for a weekend or even out to dinner (we will be married 20 years this year and our kids are older)... any other ideas?

I had planned one anniversary to kidnap my wife for work. I had it all set to where her boss was going to schedule her to work that weekend, but in reality she was off. I was going to go to her work and kidnap her for the weekend. I never got to figure out where we were going. Something happened that I was unable to do this. Maybe I should plan it out again for our next one.

i'm thinking a romantic way to spend a wedding anniversary is to relive the first date you had. or to visit the place where you first met or had that first kiss. it's nice to sometimes go back to those happy moments and relive it.
