Need advice on sister problems

I live in Guatemala, but my family is in Canada. My sister came down to visit for Christmas, and I had sent her $150 from my PayPal account (which I couldn´t withdraw money from) so she could bring the money down to me. She was robbed while here, so couldn´t give me the money. She promised to send it as soon as she got home, as well as open a bank account for me there and a new Paypal account so I could work online. To make a long story short, I never saw the money again and she only opened the account a couple of weeks ago, after I went through a massive depression. Supposedly, she was going to send me the bank card so I could get money out. Expecting the bank card, I borrowed money to get internet and proceeded to work extremely hard. However, she hasn´t sent the card and now I am in debt without any way to get out! I realize it was not intelligent to trust her, but now that I am in this situation, what can I do? Any suggestions? I have tried talking to her, letting her know how bad off we are at the moment (part of my depression was because we owe massive amounts for my son´s surgery) but she seems indifferent. She has repeatedly told me that she will send it in a day or two, and never does and when I asked last time, she told me there were no couriers in her city. It is quite evident that she has no plans to do anything, and I now have over $300 sitting in a PayPal account with no way to get it!

Hello I would contact paypal and explain what has happened and request a check to be sent to you. R

Unfortunately, PayPal won´t send checks to Guatemala. If they did, I wouldn´t have any problems at all! :)

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. :( Why is your sister like this? Is any family members who might have resolve the matter? Even if she needs the money as badly, cheating and lying to you is still wrong. Have you tried e.g. western union? I think it has quite a far reach though I can't be sure. Maybe you can try emailing paypal to see if you can work out some special arrangement?
