Whenever you start a discussion, do you always choose a best response from amongst the responses you received?
Whenever you receive a best response to a discussion you participated, do you ever go back to that mylot user and drop a note of "thanks"?
What is your practice?

I do give best response for people who has give their response in my discussion, i choose them because they have given the right response and really help me solve my problem. I myself sometimes give some comments for people who has choose me as best response.

thanks flikkenni! it's good to know other mylot users do that.
being in mylot for almost a week, i recently had my first best response. and in my excitement, i dropped a short note of thanks to that mylot user. then i wondered if others do that too. :)

I often give a comment to say thanks, but I do thank them.
My own way of thanking those who have chosen my response as best, is to rate the topic and also the comment that threadhost's put under my response. This gives me more time in continuing to participate and respond more to other's posts..

Yes I always pick a best response. Sometimes it takes a few day to pick for a number of reasons. If the discussion got many responses in a short period of time it takes a little time to get through them to find the best response. Sometimes if you get only a few responses it can take sometime, if your waiting for a better response.
I do go back and drop a note of thanks. My rule had been if they left a reply to my response then I said thank you, but I have now been going back and thanking regardless of a reply.

I usually wait until the discuswsion is a week old and has had no new responses for a few days before I choose a best response. I do rate all of the answers as well. I sometimes thank the person for a best response, I have to admit, with all the other things I do here as well, I can get a little behind in that aspect.
