Some schools are banning surfing in the night. Internet access is prohibited between 11pm-12noon, the next day in certain hostels. Stating that there is a decline in level of participation in cultural activities.... Some students are even seriously affected by the excessive time they spent online, leading to psychological problems in some cases. Students will have to be discerning and should judge whether activity like blogging, chatting or gaming in the internet will take away their priority in life which is to study in this point of their student life. Parents have dumped quite a bit of a sum into their education and students should at least understand that and put their energy into that. If you were a parent, are these one of your concerns? How will you address these concerns? If you are a student, do you think that blogging, chatting online, gaming will affect your studies?

This is so interesting... no, I don't think we should ban surfing. Why, we even have wireless routers installed so that we can surf anywhere at any time! Nowadays, we want to be connected.. not disconnected. :P

Connected is good but if a student cannot be discerning enough, then the school or parents will have to step in and measures to be taken that students learn how to priorities their time...

It depends, i mean if schools have proper control over the student activities then there is no problem but where there is lack of proper management students get a loop hole and there is the wide stream of internet showing everything to them. and they start misuse the net
