IP-TV service by BSNL - This is a news clipping from The Hindu , a leading daily from South India . This clipping says that BSNL will be soon launching a new service , IP-TV in India .
Basic Telephone is the main service from BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) . It is a Government organization . BSNL has emerged as the leading Internet Service Provider in India . Currently they provide their services in most parts of India. BSNL is acclaimed for being the first ISP to introduce economy level 2mbps packages (With Data limits but Unlimited usage for most of home plans from 2am to 8am). BSNL is perhaps the most popular ISP in India currently with the largest install base as the company has one major advantage of having a widespread telephone network which enables them to reach the remotest areas in the country. Other telecom companies in India have asked the government to force BSNL to make accessible this network for a fee. But BSNL has opposed this idea. If they make available this extensive network to other companies for a fee, they could boost the availability of internet services in India.
