This last winter, I noticed for myself, family, and friends that our electric bills shot through the roof. I personally think it's bogus, any suggestions on what to do about this?
I'm sure theres alot of you out there that feels the same. Please respond and let me know, so i don't feel so alone on this matter, thank you.

Have you tried getting a thermostat for your temperature gauge? I know it won't be an instant fix, but at least with this you can keep your temperature at a constant number. Your heater won't be kicking on and off so much.

Sorry, forgot a thought. Our electric bill has actually gone down since we got the timer on our thermostat installed. So it has helped. I hope I'm making sense.

I am sorry I don't have any real solutions to your problem, in fact I have the same problems, the utilities are constantly making increases and we have so few solutions and we unfortunately need there services. When we moved into our home, a few years back, the first year our bills were absolutely phenomenal. But we did make some changes that did cut our bills in half, although I wish we could reduce it even more,I will list some of the changes we made. First we lowered the thermostat, next we made sure all of our windows had curtains, and we even closed the vents in the rooms that we didn't occupy constantly. I am always cold so I purchased a heater that warmed up the room that I stayed in the most and needed additional heat in. Now, this did help us a lot but I am sure there are other MyLotter here with even better solutions. I am glad you submitted this post I just can't wait to see their comments and hopefully find additional ways to save on heating expenses...SS

I am going to make a few assumptions here, so bear with me. Electric heat should be more reasonable than gas heat, at this time. Consider possibly getting on an average payment plan, assuming that one is available in your area. For personal comfort, consider wearing a stocking cap inside, also a warm sweater can help. Double duty on your dryer can help. Do your baking and cooking at the colder parts of the day, to take advantage of the extra heat being made available. Closing off rooms that are seldom used can help. I hope this helps. If you have any questions you could P.M. me here.
