Why do I have to wait so long? I live near Orlando Fl and there are a lot of places that do it!

That's pretty ridiculous. My hospital schedules mammograms 24 hours a day. So often if you want one soon, you have to do it at 2AM or something, but it's better than waiting MONTHS to get your check up. Mine was also expedited because I found a lump at 27, and they wanted to check it out ASAP. I imagine my yearly check ups won't need to be done so quickly.

It may depend on why he recommended the mamogram, if they think it is something that needs fast treatment they would get you in somewhere. If you have found a lump the doctor often has a good idea of whether it is going to be something serious or not. The majority of lumps are acually harmless, if you are that concerned get in touch with the place doing them and ask if you could be considered if they have any cancellations or go back and ask your doctor if you could get in at another place. In the meantime take extra good care of yourself, take lots of vitamins etc and eat lots of fresh foods, fruit and veg etc, take time to relax each day and visualise your immune system destroying anything in your body that could be attacking it, be positive and try not to get stressed or worried.

Usually anything found will not be a problem in that short of time and if anything is found by then it might be too late anyway. The redtape of our healthcare system does not lend itself to our wellness really. I hope that it all turns out in the time that is meant for you in your situation. May it prove to be a clear reading.

That sure sopunds like a very long time to wait for an apointment. maybe it would help if you called around and talked to the different offices that do mamograms.
