I can not apprehend how great is he, but a guess comes to me that he is as great as 'Gravitation' and 'Seven Colours of Sun-rays'. He may be less in discussion at present time of IT expansion, but the theory F = G.m1.m2/r-square founded by him is the basis of all satellite stationing, the most essential for IT expansion!
The fall of an apple in his garden created and established the concept of gravitation. I can not say, who ate that apple(may be himself) but such a small and common and simple incident, discovering a vital force of Nature is very rare in science.
What is your view? Am I right to think like this?
