need help with adobe photoshop

i just got adobe photoshop cs2, i have several small images which form part of my website design, i need to change the colours of there but i havent got a clue im already pulling my hair out thinkimg of getting a refund on this program it kees telling mei cant do this and that!! help please somebody!

lots of ways to change a peticular area / hole image in photoshop. U can use hue/saturation, variations, paintbucket or colour balance.

Try using the magic wand to select the color you want to change. Then, use the paint bucket to fill it in with the new color.

yeah the magic wand helped although its not perfect but it did the job, half the problem was when i loaded the pics they were not in RGB mode they were in some other mode so soon as i changed that it was all working better for me.

Terrific, I am glad that helped! You can adjust the tolerance on the magic wand, too, if it's not giving you the results you want. There's also a color replacer tool (go to imageadjustmentsreplace color. Can't believe I did not think of that one before.

You already seem to have obtained some pretty good and varied advice on how to change colours with Adobe Photoshop, but of course there are many ways of doing most tasks. My favourite is to set the background colour to the appropriate choice and then select the area with the magic wand and cut it. This will show the background colour that you selected.
