The internet is truly a wonderful thing! I use it all the time, for many things, like playing online games, shopping, mylot, other forums, and more. But.....sometimes when I'm trying to find information and facts about a certain subject, I often find conflicting data between websites. Especially true when I'm trying to find info about what might be a 'controversial' topic. What about you? Do you have the same problem? How do you decipher which is fact and which is not?

Naturally, if you are trying to find information on controversial topics, you will find pros and cons. Otherwise, it's no longer controversial. It's up to you to use your wisdom to evaluateand decide which is betterif decision is necessary. If the subject is not controversial, then you will not find conflicting data.

The internet is full of facts that aren't checked and double checked... So you never know for sure. Best thing to do is to read both (or more) sides of a topic and weigh for yourself where you stand. It is obvious that if you want to know just plain facts about mr X, you should not visit mr X's own website, or his fan's website, 'cause the info you get there is not at all objective. So you search elsewhere to find info on mr X. It is all a matter of using your brain, your common sense, and not stupidly believe everything you find on the internet. Nothing there has a "seal" or stamp that is is a 100% verified or true...

Yep! Guess it's impossible to be 100% sure, no matter how hard you try. Good points about finding 'facts' in 'other locations than own sites'. I often use that tactic when I'm trying to learn more about 'scams', etc. Thanks for the post.

I have some sites that I really trust so tend to believe. Otherwise I try to find out as much information as possible from as many different sources as I can and then make my decision.
