What's the grossest thing you've ever heard of people eating? Would you ever try it? Why? I think eating bugs is it for me. I know they are high in protein and all, but I just can't get past the bug factor. LOL

Yeah, I think bugs would be it for me too - I hate the episodes of Survivor where they're eating bugs and spiders and scorpions (oh my!) Other than bugs, most people are pretty grossed out when I tell them I used to eat mayonnaise and grape jelly sandwiches. (In my defense, I was a little kid, and I wouldn't touch one now.)

LOL Ewwww! If it makes you feel any better as a kid I ate mayonnaise and pickle sandwiches.

I agree with Michelle. As a vegetarian, meat would be the worst thing.. any kind of meat, although some kinds would skeeve me out more than others. I call it 'rotting corpse', because that's the way I view it, and corpse doesn't sound appetizing at all. Another thing, on Fear Factor I once saw people drinking blended up rats, hair, eyes, tails and all... rat smoothie. Just the thought of that is enough to turn my stomach!

I think cannibalism sounds pretty gross! I would not try it unless I was starving and had no choice. Yuk, the thought of eating another human being...

well you never know, I too don't think I would be able, but if you get really hungry...

OMG I didn't even think of cannibalism. Eating human beings is just plain wrong, not to mention sick! I think I'd rather die if my only 2 choices were to die or eat a person. I wouldn't matter if was starving and stuck in the middle of nowhere, I just couldn't do such a thing. Just thinking about it makes me want to hurl. :(

Twinkies. I won't eat anything that doesn't age. McDonalds Chicken Nuggets. You do NOT want to know what's in there. Ground beef. Read "Fast Food Nation." 'Nuff said. On the other hand, I've eaten crickets (they offered me roasted ones at the zoo.) They weren't bad. Kind of like shrimp, but not ocean-tasting.

LOL I have to agree with you on the McDonalds. Yuck! Any of that "fast food" stuff is disgusting!

"Supersize Me" is another good one. I dont' eat fast food anyway, but that reinforced it.

After seeing "Supersize Me" (a while ago), I decided to rarely eat McDonalds (and other fast food restaurants) from then on. So far, I've successfully resisted the temptation to buy fries. :D

There's something served in the middle east that is basically meat that is preserved in salt. Not precooked or anything, just set into salt. I should say it's supposed to preserve it. From everything I've heard it doesn't do much for it really. Basically you're eating rancid meat. Blech!! The other thing I think I'd have a hard time eating is anything live. Very popular in some parts of the world, but not for me. I can't even stand the thought of oysters or clams which are usually dug out, opened and served straight from the shell. Makes me squirm just to think about it. There is one fruit from the area of Japan that I'd probably have a hard time with too. Can't remember the name of it right now. I just remember that it's illegal to have it on the subway there because it smells so bad. My husband tells me that once you get past the smell it's actually very sweet. I think I'll just take his word for it.
