Any ideas on using a Cross for Easter Services at Church?

I'm relatively new at my Church, but absolutely love it! I've been selected to help with the floral arranging for our Easter Services, and I offered to obtain wood to make a Cross. After doing a lot of research on the web, I've found that many Churches now use the following colors for Easter: Royal Purple, White, Gold, Yellow, Blue, and Black. The Black is being used to drape over the Cross from Palm Sunday until just before Easter Sunday, symbolizing the Crucifixion. Then on Easter Sunday everything is done in white, gold, and perhaps yellow to symbolize the Resurrection. Does anyone have any ideas on what to use to make the cross?(Besides wood, of course) I plan to make it appr. 5 feet tall. Any construction ideas? I'll appreciate any and all responses.
