What is your Favourite Picnic?

I love picnics, especially family picnics. There are lots of wonderful locations in or near Adelaide for a picnic. Our favourite is at Belair National Park. This is a magnificant park in natural surroundings, full of native trees and shrubs, walking paths, etc. There is a spot that is especially good for children. It's an area where they have built a fort. Well, our children just love this fort, even my nearly 14 year old daughter. We go there about twice a year with friends who have 6 children. We always pick a spot under a large gum tree. We set up a table & chairs, and the adults start with coffee. Off the 9 kids go to play "war" games in this fort. It's really amusing watching them organise whop is on what side, then running around attacking each other (make believe). Then we have a nice lunch together. Sanwiches, rolls, cakes & fruit... anmd more coffee. As the kids play we watch the birds in the trees. Last time we went there were Rainbow Lorikeets. It always is a beautiful day. We are due for another picnic in April.
