I am facing strange problem.

Hi all mylot user I am facing a problem during use of internet. I am using very slow connection. i am using window xp without service pack and when i installed it newly my internet speed was good but after some day it start to slow again. And today it very slow then i format my harddisk where i reinstalled window xp now my connection speed is again good. But why it was slow before it i do not know. Anyone can tell me what is problem. and how can i recover from it.

I am not too good at these things but my son is , I use mozilla firefox and it is really quick and no annoying pop ups xx not sure if that is the kind of answer you want or if I have read the question wrong xx

I dont thing there is a problem with your internet connection or system.Possibly there could be a malware on your system that reduces the speed.i recommend you to use an antivirus and update it regularly.

How slow is slow? Hover your mouse over the connection icon (two computers with flashing blue screens) on the system tray and see what speed you're connected at. A 56kbps modem will never connect at 56kbps in a real world situation, as the possible speed degrades as you get further away from the telephone exchange.

I am not using Bsnl connection i am using Airtel. anyway thanks for response.
