being the bravest that you have ever been? What situation and time comes to mind that stands out above all the rest?

I think it was when I refused to accept the medical experts prognosis that I would never walk again. I was scared silly but determined to fight back and prove them wrong...and I won!

I think it was walking away from my physically and mentally abusive marriage. I had a 22 month old daughter and a 9 month old son. I picked up and moved half way across the country to get away from this man. I had no money, car or furniture but I knew I would find a way. I managed to raise them and get a college degree.

For me the bravest thing I have done in my life is to quit my job and take a totally different career move! Which meant going to college for three years. It was a big gamble meaning that I wouldn't have a working wage coming in. At 32 as well as being a male going into a totally female dominated field like childcare. I don't regret it and I was scared at the time and for the first four months kept wondering if I had done the right thing or not. Sadly I still haven't got a job out of it because they don't want men working with children so I will have to go back to a job I hated and although I have lost out financially it has been rewarding.

My family and I had gone on a road trip in our camper. We were parked at a campground in Ohio. We had been out hiking and had just returned to the camper. I noticed that the wind had picked up drastically and it was getting a weierd kind of dark. I went inside the camper and turned on the radio just to hear the tail-end of an announcement about a tornado in a certain county. I had no idea what county we were in. I was paniced, but realized I had to stay calm. My husband was in the bathhouse showering and the chidlren were at the playground. I went to the next camper and knew by looking at the face on the man and woman that it was near us. They had grabbed their little dog and were running. I broke into a run and got the kids at the playground. We got to the bathhouse just in time. (the bathhouse was the only 'structure' around and was thankfully made of concrete. Everyone crowded in there. I could see the fear on my children's faces (who were smart enough to read the adult's faces) and so I tried to look as calm as I could. The tornado touched down 2 miles from the campground and the wind was terrible. Many campers ended up with trees through them and overturned. Ours magically was unharmed. We had to stay at that campground for 3 days longer than expected due to fallen trees blocking the only road out. ...but we were safe and that was all that mattered. We were also without electricity for a day, but again, I didn't care!

My bravest moment in my life was leaving my abusive ex-husband. He said he would hurt my whole family. I was terrified. For a long time.
