Look out your window and write what you see. The next time you go for a walk take pen and pad with you. Write down what you see. Don't give up. Maybe you are trying too hard. Just let your mind wander. If I am stuck I put on some music, very moving, very soothing, usually instrumental. Or I go out to the woods, sit down and let my mind wander. The words begin to flow and before I know it I have filled a page. What do you want to write? A novel, short story, poems? I took a creative writing course where they gave you a prompt and you just ran with it.

Try the freewriting technique: jot down whatever comes to you. Don't edit or worry about spelling or grammar. Just take one word and go with the ideas it generates.

That's a great idea! I've been suffering from writer's block for weeks now and it's driving me nuts. I feel like my characters are yelling at me to get my $hit together and go back to making their lives. I will do that tonight.

Haven't that already happened for at least a few years now for you? Hehe. But i understand that. Maybe you should try something else? Good luck to you though.

My favorite method is to visit a bookstore or library. Long before my visit ends, I find that I have plenty of inspiration! I also have a chance to see what topics are "hot" right now. If you can't do that, try freewriting, and if freewriting doesn't help, try reading or listening to a radio talk show. If you're still stuck, think of your favorite topics and make a list of all of the words that are related in some way to that topic. Just don't edit your list as you develop it. Write everything down. By the time you're done, you should have plenty of material to work with. Good luck!

I actually started to write my very first e-book because everyone is always asking me how to do certain things including leasing properties and lease options however I had the same problem. I started and and got through the "About the author" and the first 2 1/2 pages of the first chapter and even though I teach it to people all the time I had a block too. It may not be the best way to get over it but what I have done is taken some time away from it all together and went and read other people's writing and that has started to get my brain moving again!

One problem with writing, and anything creative is that we all want it to be brilliant, amazing and influential, that the critics will love it and praise us and we can set off on a round of tv interviews and public book signings, and that the reality is that on some days all we can do is write total drivel that is too embarrasing to put down on paper. I have an "outakes" box file for all the rubbish that i produce in these moments when i write about just about anything and nothing, I go back to this from time to time when i am in a less scathingly critical frame of mind and find that i have written one or two quite usable gems in there so it is not wasted time (totally)

I've been having serious writers block for a while now. So what I've been doing is just writing anything. Lately, it's been fanfiction. Writing Fanfiction has been getting my juices flowing so to speak.

It's all in your mind. Just keep writing. Even if it's not good writing. You can always go back to edit it later. The worst thing to think about is how much you're writing.

If you find that you have difficulty freewriting as suggested above, there are books available to writers that are daily exercises that are to get you started. The one I bought is "Room to Write." There are different ones available at any bookstore. I also find that reading some of the how to write books will start the juices flowing. There's also browsing some websites such as Writers' Digest and just reading other books might help. Good luck.
