I was wondering how many mom's or dads give pop to their kids. We dont here I usually buy 100 % pure orange and apple juice, and would like to start making smoothies for them What do you give your kids?

I give my kids soda...mostly the diet kind. I drink it constantly and so I share with my kids...I know I know I am a trerrible mother. If you don't agree with me I understand but don't tell me how terrible I am.....not trying to be rude there are just alot of judgemental people on here that like to tear people up about things they don't agree with. (thanks) My daughter mostly drinks water though-just what she likes and my son drinks juice all the time (and milk) but I have watered down the juice now so there is just a splash of flavor in there. So mostly they are on the healthy side but I do admit to giving them soda every now and then.

Stacy, My daughter is 13 months old, so she's only getting milk, water and Gerber juice. I do know that I don't plan on giving her soda until she's a bit older. I recently went to a party and a mother there was giving her 15 month old daughter Diet Coke!! I was shocked. First of all, a child that young doesn't need the caffiene. Second, she was giving the 15 month old the soda at night. When I do allow my child to start drinking soda, I'll only give her the diet stuff (Pepsi, Coke, etc.) so that she'll be used to drinking that. That way she won't be drinking the full-fat and caloried sodas right off the bat. GACathyMac

My oldest child just turned two and bad mother that I am, I do occasionally give him pop. One of his aunts gave him some one day in McDonalds and since then he knows what it is. I'm pretty sure it doesn't hurt him once in a while. His dentist said he has no cavities. Besides that he drinks milk, water, and juices of all types.

My son is thirteen months old and eats EVERYTHING and drinks almost everything. (NON ALCOHLIC, of course) He eats from our plates, and tries to drink what we drink. Of course he has milk and juice mostly, and occasionally has what we have.
