Illegal Immigrants, good or bad for US or both?

Lately, especially where I live, there has been a crack down on illegal immigrants. Immigration has been raiding where they are suspected to be working and detaining them and later deporting them back to their countries. Illegal immigrants come here just trying to have a better lived for themselves and often for their families. Do you think immigration laws are too tough, not tough enough, do illegal immigrants have the right come to this country? How do you feel about the topic? Feel free to express yourself.

I think inmigrants are so neccesary for USA economy (I supouse you are speaking about USA). Did you see the film "A day without mexican"?? If not, see it, is not a good film, but is a good documental about the problem you are talking about.

I agree with you 100%. The USA economy would not function the way it does without immigrants. I have heard about the documentary "A day without a mexican?", but I have not seen it. I will dfinitely try to see it. Thanks for your comments.

I don't know much about this topic, but I would say that there are some families who literally have to illegally leave their countries because of fear of their safety. Here in New Zealand, the body of government that controls immigrants is apprantly, very, very corrupt. I've heard stories of only extremely rich people being allowed entry, whereas everybody else gets the finger basically. I think, while illegal, deporting people back to their countries with absolutely nothing, and in risk of safety is horrible UNLESS they pose a threat to the society they have tried to mould themselves in. For lack of a better term: live and let live.

I agree with you, I think immigrants leave their country to go to another one just to make ends meat. Deporting them back to their country in unsafe conditions and often mistreating them is something horrible. Often they ar deported and they leave loved ones behind because they were caught and not them. This causes even more pain and suffering. Thanks for your insight about this issue.

I think the key word here is 'illegal.' I believe immigrants make America strong and give us so many things to meld into one culture. Lately, the whole immigration issue has been clouded because the problem is that some are here illegally. No other country in the world would put up with that sort of thing and we are supposed to forget about the rules that have made our country great and prosperous. People who have come here legally and have worked hard to make their lives here should be outraged that there are so many trying to take a short-cut. Illegal immigrants do not have a right to be here, but things have gotten awfully complicated because no one has taken action to stop it. Come to America, come and make a better life for yourself, it truly is a great country, but do it legally, the right way. Start out as a law abiding, hardworking citizen--please do not start out as a criminal! Perhaps it should be made a little easier to become a citizen here.
