Sincerity...is a quality or defect?

I'm considering the sincerity is a good and an important thing in a relationship, friendship or in other situasions.For example when you begin a relationship it's preferable to tell the truth about yourself to not have problems later or to that person change his opinion about you.Also a little lie for an good intention is not so bad, it's a inocent lie

Definately a quality only , Who says that is a defect , sincerity is something not everyone can have so that is why some people may call it a defect because they cant be sincere , but one always looks for sincere people at work .
