A Healthy Non-addicitive food?

Yes peanuts are good for you, this is why:- Peanuts don't cause the direct release of dopamine (the pleasure neurotransmitter), that's a good thing because when dopamine is released, you feel great until the levels begin to drop off and you find yourself reaching for more of the item that made you feel so fine. Examples are Value meals with large Coke or Chocolate Shake, potatoes and sugary cereals But peanuts satisfy without the neurochemical roller coaster of some other foods and they're great for your heart because they're full of healthy fats, vegetable proteins and flavorous (powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substances). Just an ounce of nuts a day can decrease the incidence of heart disease between 20% and 60%. So cut cravings and get healthy with a few peanuts, although if you have a nut allergy you should avoid them!

those facts are true rainbow and it may be agreeable to all who are already healthy but not for people who has high uric acid. people with gout problem are restricted from eating nuts. so most likely, nuts are not for all old people. good info rainbow!

This is a legume and not a nut. From the pea family really! Good luck!

This is exciting! It sounds like peanuts would be a good alternative to eating chips...and I like both. I'm trying to make better choices...so nuts it is!

I don't think you can eat that many nuts, it may be fattening to eat loads and loads, I'm not sure that you can eat a pound bag or anything, lol. An ounce of peanuts would be better than the same amount of chips but I don't think we aught to gorge ourselves, don't forget if they are salted or in a coating of chocolate this doesn't help our body, lol.

i think most nuts are good in moderation, I remember my mum being on a diet years ago where she was allowed 2 brazil nut in replacement of meat due to the amount of fat they contain, thought tis was interesting so i had to share it, lol.

That is why I eat peanut butter You have to watch since some of them are loaded with extra sugar but that legume is a great one. I have grown them in the garden since my family likes them roasted and eaten a bit like popcorn from a bowl. Thanks for explaining the goodness of a natural food.

Wow, I'm always wary of peanot butter although I love it, my mum used to say it would make me fat, lol. Maybe I shoukd just check the jar before I drive in there regardless, like I tend to anyway.
