Starting over

After 25 years with the same company I find myself with no job, no savings, a house payment, a car payment, utilities, and unpaid credit card debt. I wasn't in great shape before with credit card companies threatening to take me to court and now I'm scared to death and have no idea where to even begin looking for work. I had a couple strokes a couple years back and it slowed me down a lot. I'm not young any more. I don't know how I will face tomorrow. If anyone has some good suggestions on earning a living from home please help.

Well, you're in a bad situation right now, but it isn't an impossible one. I don't know enough about your situation to give specific advice, but do you have anything you can sell? And how old is your car? If it's a newer one, you might be able to trade down and get an older one with no payments or lower payments. When things hit us, we sometimes need to make adjustments we don't like to make. If things get bad enough, sell your home rather than lose it to the lender. If you sell, you'll at least get something out of it. It's almost garage sale season, so sell whatever you can to make payments that have to be made. As far as working, if you can write, try out About.com (http://beaguide.about.com) They only pay $725 to start, but you can make more there. If you can write, you can do that on the side while you work there. I don't know what you're talents are, or what work experience you have, but the internet does provide work and money for those willing to go after them.

Many thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestions. I'm so depressed right now it's hard to even think but I'll most definitely check out your income suggestions.

I can understand that. I'm facing some problems myself right now (but not like the situation you have) so I sympathize with you. I hope you don't mind if I pray for you.

Your prayers are appreciated. I have spent the day trying to come down off this emotional roller coaster so I can do some serious job seeking. Supposedly when one door closes another one opens. I just haven't found it yet if that is the case.

This sounds like a tough situation. You are going to have to take things one step at a time. Can you do data entry? You might be able to get some work bookkeeping and just general clerical work from home. For extra cash, I do reviews on reviewstream.com. I try to do just a few a day, and let it add up over time. That way it's kind of easy to do. The minimum payout is $50, and I've been paid twice. It's a very slow way to make money though, as the bulk rate is very low. Can you tutor? If you have a subject that you can help kids in and are good at explaining, you might be able to tutor from your home. Maybe you could start out just looking for different online things you can do, just to get some cash in your account for next months bills, and then spend a couple of hours a day looking for a more stable position.

I will be doing some serious searching for work to do from home. Any help you can give in pointing me to ways to find work would be a Godsend. It's been so very long since I was in school that I don't know if I'm up to date on subjects enough to offer tutoring. I'll keep it in mind though. I came across some sites that offer free classes on line so maybe I can brush up some.

that's sad to know. 25 years is not a joke and instead of being happy after those years, you are feeling depressed (i guess... correct me if i am wrong). i hope you feel better soon. i am sorry about the strokes you've gone through before. glad that you are okey and trying to get hold of life. good thing is, you are trying to get back on track and holding on to everything that you still have. i haven't been working for months now due to some reasons and mylot is just a great site for me. get to be with people even if just through the net... not feeling lonely at all. there are lots here who are willing to help us uplift our spirits and boost our energies to keep us going! and so, i get to earn something nice here. and the earnings i get here, some of it, i invest in the so called "risky" type of earning. but well, i earn good in such sites which i have been trusting for months now. so, i think everything worth the risk for me!

I'm not all that experienced on the internet and have never had very many friends. I only have two people's e-mail addresss. I'm not sure how qualified for networking that makes me and if it takes an investment I know I won't be able to do it. I'd be more than happy to hear how it works though.
