Girls/Women and clothes!!

Why do girls wear shorts (very shorts!!!). Is it a way to attract someone or fashion? If it's a way to attract then what do you want from other person and if it's fashion, what kind of fashion is this which makes one almost nude??

I like my shorts to be shorter because I think they are more comfortable...I feel all weird and funcky if they are too long....but my butt cheeks are not hanging out or anything =) For me it is just to be comfortable.
