We have Comcast here. Last month's bill was $61.84 for cable TV and Internet. They told us it would actually be eight cents more if we dropped cable TV ($61.92)!!! They also have a malware problem, at least where our local servers are. DoS attacks keep bouncing off their servers, and my firewall keeps returning Comcast's own IP addresses. I would switch to DSL or ClearWire, but we're outside the DSL "loop," and out of range of ClearWire's nearest tower. If we want high speed Internet, and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for satellite, we're stuck. If you can get DSL, I would recommend it. It's literally about thirty times the speed of dialup, and phone systems are more secure than pipeline. It also tends to be cheaper.

I use M33 Access. They serve much of northern Michigan, so depending on where you are located; they probably won't be much good to you. I have the wireless service. After the cost of the satellite installation, the bill is $60 per month, less a discount if you have school age children. They also have DSL available. I am not happy with my service, as you can read here. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/906424.aspx
