You are standing in the express check at a supermarket and some idiot who can't read that has 50 items over 20 gets in front of you. It drives me nuts. I always stand there and give them the evil eye until they realize what they did and apologize. I see it all the time at work too. I get customers that don't even care that they have way over 20 items but they trot into the express check with no problem even though their getting the evil eye from everyone around them even me the cashier. Does this bother you too?

I know what you mean. But then again, I will try to observe the situation carefully before joining a queue. I will attempt to join not the shortest queue, but the one that I think will be resolved the fastest. :P Here in Singapore, I think it's 5 items or less for express queues... or is it 10? Definitely not 20 I think. In fact, I find that usually express queues take long time to resolve. I don't know why but I seldom find myself there - even if I have only 1 or 2 items.

There is a lot of people that do that too. I'll be on a long register and I'll get several people that only have one or two items and they that it's quicker that way. I can understand why. When you're a cashier on an express lane it's so boring you take your time without even noticing that you're moving really slow. That's kind of nice having a five items or less express check. That would be a lot quicker.

Yes and I politely ask them if they did not notice the limit on number of items it always works.

Oh yes. It always get to my nerves when that happens. How insensitive and inconsiderate some people can be. If someone cuts the queu even when their items is below 20, i will tell them to queue behind. It's not fair to others who waited for their turn. What more if the items that they have is more than 20!

That drives me up the wall but i blame the stores for that for nto having enough cashiers there ready to get customers thru. I do not blame the cashiers they are hard working always nice even when they do not want to be. The store should have more check outs open you go into soem of these places and there are 30 tills and only 3-4 open with lines deep enough to go into the asiles.

I know. It makes me really mad when they put me all alone on one side of the store on a busy day. I barely got to leave tonight because I was the only down by the groceries and I couldn't get the customers to stop coming even with my closed sign up. How rude. Anyways I think they need to have more registers open too for the customers and associates. Money loving jerks.

Yup they do but if a customer sees the light off and a closed sign up they should go to another line. I have left full carts of groceries with the manager casue they did nto have enough tills open and I will not stand in line for more than 15 mins max. As much as companies wanna make the money they had better start to look after the customers better they spend fortunes getting us into the store but not enough attension is spent on tgetting us out quicly either.

It really pisses me off when someone just runs you over like you don't even exist. People are very very rude and inconsiderate of everyone else. I hate working at a supermarket and I hate shopping too because of all of those rude jerks.

God must love idiots, for he makes so many of them! I have seen and suffered many of them. You see them everywhere. At the supermarket, cutting lanes in the street, jumping queues, so and so forth. I don't always stop at giving them the evil eye. I often give them a piece of my mind. My intention is not to educate them, but to shame them. Embarrass them in public. They will think twice before attempting it again. Not just that, the other mute spectators will also support you when you take the initiative. Sad, but true, this is the way these things work. Everybody seems to wait for someone else to take an initiative in these matters. I have never shied away from such a scene. A couple of the offenders have even realized their mistakes and tendered apologies. See if it works for you!

I do hate that and it I just can't stand there giving a person an evil eye. I have to say something or I might die of heart failure because I didn't get to express what I wanted to say to that person. Many times I have told a person like that that it's not the counter for them and that they could confirm with the cashier because they would be asked just the same to transfer to another counter. One time the cashier even told the person that it's okay, so I had the cashier called by the customer service supervisor so that she would be corrected and would the right thing next time.

LOL...giggles, I know what you mean here. Its really annoying to see this kind of people. People tried to rush in to the counter so they can be check out right away. The thing is, there are some days when only a few cashiers are available. There is one small supermarket in my area. And I always loathe going there because they only have one cashier standing by. I always need to line up and wait for about 20 minutes before reaching the counter. I remember an old woman who placed all her items beside mine. I didn't gave her the "evil look" because I was thinking she is an old woman anyway.
