x-mas-- toys vs electronics

i have a 2 year old and a 13 year old step daughter. i am 1 of 9 children and when we were little ones x-mas was great it was all about family but seems now a days its all about getting the best electronics!!! those with kids do you do dolls and tonka trucks or is it electronics? me personaly i try to pull in a little of how it was when i was a kid with the big x-mas dinner and toys regular toys, i do buy certain electronics for step daughter but for my 2 year old its all about dolls and tea sets :-)
