my daughter will be turning 4 soon after the local minor lacrosse team starts. anyway the age group for the youngest team is age 3-6. i'm worried that a 6 year old would really be able to hurt a 3 or 4 year old with their lacrosse stick. (accidently of course). would you let your little girl play on this team with such older kids. do you think the age group is too wide spread? i'm thinking i might wait until next year to sing her up.

The coaches are well trained and at that age instill a no hitting policy and enforce it. In the early stages there is more emphasis put upon the features of the game, how to play, rules, actions, etc. then on the physical contact aspect of it all. I wouldn't worry at all. I think the earlier she gets into it the more comfortable she will feel once she gets into the age groups where contact is acceptable.
